Precor C776I Stepper uses self-powered six-phase generator system that produces least friction and provides very smooth operation. The stepper has a belt drive instead of the usual chain drive, which minimizes maintenance. Since it is equipped with large footplates, the user can vary position comfortably during the workout. The console provides 14 workout options, which are goal oriented and motivational. Ergonomically placed U-shaped handlebars and side rails encourage the right posture during workouts. The step speed can be controlled along with the level of resistance.

Compared to the other two models, Precor C776I has the least number of 14 workout programs, whereas Life Fitness 9500 Next Gen provides 23 programs, and Life Fitness Lifestep 95Se provides 17 programs. However, Precor C776I provides wider range of 30 resistance levels, compared to 20 resistance levels provided by the other two models. Precor C776I and the Life Fitness 9500 steppers are self-powered, whereas Lifestep 95Se requires a power source. The two Life Fitness models have Polar Telemetry along with touch sensors, while the Precor model seems to have only touch sensor for monitoring heart rate.
