Stairmaster SM916 vs. Stairmaster 7000pt Stepmill

Both models are sturdy and have the same user weight capacity, and range of stepping speed. However, Stairmaster 7000pt Silver Screen model has nine workout programs compared to six provided by the Stairmaster SM916 model. Secondly, as the name suggests 7000pt has silver backlit LCD C40 screen, whereas the SM916 has a backlit C51 LCD console display. The number of readouts provided by both machines is the same, and the main programs have individual buttons for quick access.

I am definitely a big fan of this new addition to the Stairmaster lineup. The SM916 stairway to heaven (LOL) model seems to withstand more use and abuse in our health center. I also like the resistance levels as they are a bit more intuitive than previous versions of this machine. A little more quiet as well. Thank you Gym Pros!

Really nice high end stair stepper. I’ve been a big fan of the 7000PT and this was a nice and long awaited upgrade to my personal training studio. The overall components feel a bit more sturdy and I’ve never had to have this thing serviced in over a year of constant wear and tear.
